Feed subscriptions

Point PodRead at a blog's RSS or Atom feed once, and new posts become podcast episodes automatically — no need to submit each article yourself.

  1. Copy the blog's feed URL

Most blogs publish an RSS or Atom feed — look for an RSS link, or try adding /feed, /rss, or /feed.xml to the site's address. Copy that URL.

  2. Subscribe on the feed subscriptions page

Paste the feed URL on the feed subscriptions page and click Subscribe. The feed's latest post converts to an episode right away.

Heads up: Older posts are not converted — if you want one, submit its URL as a regular episode from the URL tab.

  3. New posts land in your feed automatically

We check subscribed feeds hourly, so a new post becomes an episode within the hour. Each check converts up to 3 new posts per subscription; if a feed publishes more between checks, the extras are skipped rather than flooding your podcast feed.

  4. Pause or resume any time

Manage everything from the feed subscriptions page. Pause a feed to stop checking it, then Resume when you want it back. Each subscription shows when it was last checked and how many episodes it has created.

Paused and error states

Each subscription shows a status badge so you know what's happening.

  • Active We're checking the feed hourly and converting new posts.
  • Paused Paused means we've stopped checking — either you paused it or you ran out of credits. Click Resume and we'll check the feed again shortly.
  • Error Error means the last several checks failed (for example, the feed moved or is down). We keep checking, and the subscription recovers on the next successful check.

Credits and access

Feed subscriptions are available to users with credits — buy a credit pack to subscribe. Each converted post costs credits just like a URL episode, typically one credit. If you run out of credits, your subscriptions pause and we email you. Buy more credits, then resume from the feed subscriptions page.
