Email articles to your podcast

Each account can opt into a unique forwarding address. Send articles or text to it from anywhere — your inbox, a newsletter, your phone — and they land as episodes in your feed.

  1. Enable email episodes in Settings

Open Settings and scroll to the Email to Podcast section. Click Enable Email Episodes — we generate a unique forwarding address tied to your account and show it in the same panel.

Already enabled? You'll see your address in the same panel instead of the button — skip ahead to step 2.

  2. Save your forwarding address as a contact

Settings shows your address — it looks like readtome+xxxxx@…. Copy it and save it in your contacts as PodRead so it autocompletes when you forward.

  3. Forward an article (or compose new with text)

Newsletter forwards work well — hit Forward and address it to PodRead. You can also compose a new email and paste article text into the body.

  4. Episode appears in your feed

Once PodRead receives the email, audio is ready in your feed in a few minutes. Whether it shows up in your podcast app right away or ten minutes later depends on how often your app checks for new episodes — in many apps you can pull-to-refresh if you want it sooner.
