Connect PodRead to Claude

Use PodRead directly from Claude Desktop or claude.ai. Just tell Claude to turn an article into a podcast episode and it handles the rest.

Setup

Open Claude Settings and go to Connectors.
Click Add custom connector. Enter PodRead as the name and paste the URL:

Then click Add.
Find PodRead in your connectors list and click Connect. A browser window opens asking you to authorize access to your PodRead account — click Allow.
Done. Claude can now create podcast episodes for you.

Claude has access to these PodRead tools:

create_episode_from_url — Convert an article URL to a podcast episode
create_episode_from_text — Convert text content to a podcast episode
list_episodes — See your recent episodes
get_episode — Check an episode's processing status
delete_episode — Remove an episode from your feed
get_feed_url — Get your podcast RSS feed URL
list_voices — See available voice options (change your default voice in Settings)

Troubleshooting

Claude says it can't access PodRead

Re-authorize by removing the connector in Claude Settings → Connectors, then adding it again. This generates a fresh token.

Want to disconnect?

Go to your PodRead Settings page and click "Disconnect" next to Claude in the Connected Apps section. You can also remove the connector from Claude Settings → Connectors.

Episode limit reached?

Free accounts can create 2 episodes per month. Upgrade for unlimited episodes.
